SSPC Prof. Anne Marie Healy, TCD, awarded €275k from DJEI through the SFI Investigators Programme

Congratulations to SSPC Prof. Anne Marie Healy, TCD, who has been awarded €275k from DJEI through the SFI Investigators Programme for her project entitled 'Development of Fixed Dose Combination Products using Advanced Pharmaceutical Processing Technologies'. This project will be conducted in collaboration with researchers from the School of Pharmacy, Queen’s University Belfast (Prof. Gavin Andrews and Prof. David Jones – who are also SSPC collaborators). Eil Lilly (SSPC industry partner) in Indianapolis are also collaborating on the project. The Department for Employment and Learning in Northern Ireland will contribute (to QUB) £535,682.

Prof. Healy's project was one of 23 major research projects funded under the SFI Investigators Programme. Prof. Healy's project will be positioned at the rapidly developing interface between pharmaceutical and chemical engineering technologies, and will use advanced pharmaceutical processing technologies, to manufacture delivery systems capable of tailoring drug release to meet clinical demands.

SFIs Investigators Programme will provide over €30 million of research funding over a four to five year period, for 23 research projects involving over 100 researchers.
